Joe Biden says ‘justice has been delivered’ after killing of al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri

US President Joe Biden has said “justice has been delivered” after authorising the strike which killed the man who was one of the masterminds of the 9/11 terror attacks.

“This terrorist leader is no more,” Mr Biden added, before expressing his hope the killing brings “one more measure of closure” to families of the nearly 3000 people who died in the attacks on 11 September 2001.
