Oscar Pistorius will not be released early from his 13-year jail sentence

A parole board in South Africa has decided that Oscar Pistorius will not be released early from prison. The former Paralympic Champion was jailed in 2016 for the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

He had applied for release halfway through his sentence of 13 years and six months however the board said he had not yet served the minimum detention period.
